Biography

Jeffrey Tappero is the Chef of 320 Guest Ranch, an extraordinary and historic property located along the Gallatin River near Big Sky, Montana . As Chef, Mr. Tappero is responsible for menu development and planning, preparation of signature dishes, and oversees the cooking, kitchen operations and staff for the 320 Ranch Steak House, 320 Saloon, banquets and special events.

Mr. Tappero has been employed at 320 Guest Ranch for six years. His first position at the ranch was a Line Cook. After this he was rapidly promoted to Sous Chef, a position that prepared him for his eventual responsibilities as the main Chef.

"I grew up loving to cook, and even prepared an entire Italian dinner for my high school prom," stated Mr. Tappero. "From that moment, I was hooked and knew cooking would be my career. I love everything about cooking and especially enjoy taking a recipe and reinterpreting it in a new and interesting way."

A native of Arizona , Jeff began cooking professionally at the tender age of 15, doing so at Biancis of Tucson. Following this he gained invaluable experience working for the fine dining establishment, LaRocka's, also located Tucson , where he studied under the tutelage of the restaurant's owner and executive chef.

Always interested in Montana , Jeff's name was submitted for employment at the 320 Guest Ranch by a descendent of the ranch's famed former owner, Dr. Caroline McGill. He met Dr. McGill's relative at an event celebrating the 100 th anniversary of the renowned physician's birth, to which he had been invited.
